Teaching Procedures
Step 1 Greeting and revision (01)
1. The teacher and the students greet each other.
2. Revise the old words in Unit 3.(Read aloud together)
Step 2 Presentation
1. Look at the screen, read the following words and phrases after the teacher.(02)

2. Have the students to read the new vocabulary together .
3. Get the students to look at the pictures in activity 1a and tell the class what they see in them, encourage one student to read aloud the dialogues while the other student translates these sentences into Chinese.
4. Listen and number the statements{1—4} in the picture. (1b)
5. Check the answers.

1. Read the dialogues in 1a together.
2. Look at the flashcards and practice them .(03)

1. Look at 2a,listen and circle true or false for each statements.
2. Check the answers.
3. Ask one student to read the 5 sentences.
4. Listen again. What did the people on TV say? Circle the correct answers.

Step 6 Summary
Have the students to summarize yow to change the direct speech into reported speech themselves. (07)
Step 7 Pairwork
Look at 1a again and have a conversation about last night’s episode of “Young Lives” with the following patterns:
A: What happened on “Young Lives” last night?
B: Ben told Lana that Marcia was going to have a surprise party foe her.
Step 8 Grammar Focus
Read the sentences together.
Step 9 Homework
1. Learn the sentences in the box of Grammer Focus by heart.
2. Finish off the workbook at page 31and 32.
